This semi-trailer combination can carry more than 144 tonnes of logs over selected routes in the Kaingaroa Forest, the largest forest on the North Island of New Zealand. The “Kenworth C509 6×4 Day Cab” pulls three semi-trailers with a total of twelve BPW axles and can thus carry up to 50 percent more timber than a double combination. At 53 metres long, it is also the largest combination on the road in the region – and also the longest vehicle ever tested by the national magazine “NZ Truck & Driver”.(Photo: Rotorua Forest Haulage)
