Blomenröhr focuses on global service

Although the construction sector accounts for the majority of its customers, Blomenröhr Fahrzeugbau has become increasingly active in other industries in recent years. One focus is the public sector: cities and municipalities with building yards, police departments, fire brigades, Deutsche Bahn, the German Armed Forces and the federal motorway company. Managing Director Cordula Wenzel: "This business is very unique. The vehicles are put out to tender, and thanks to our expertise, Blomenröhr is well placed to respond to enquiries".
One example is a low loader trailer for a federal company in the waste disposal sector whose vehicles often operate underground. Here, drawbar trailers cannot be longer than 5 metres or wider than 2.20 metres. Wenzel: "Conventional road vehicles are 2.55 metres wide. But we can handle that: we order the axle with the right dimensions from BPW and customise the vehicle. This requires the highest quality because it would be very difficult to carry out repairs underground. Vehicles must negotiate steep turns with a 30-degree incline in the shaft, where the drawbar trailer could touch the ground. That's why we designed an underrun bar that can be raised. This means that the drawbar trailer still complies with road regulations but can negotiate the extreme inclines underground".
Exports all the way to New Caledonia
To date, over 19,000 Blomenröhr drawbar trailers have been built. 10 percent of these are in use abroad, mostly in Europe, but also in countries such as New Caledonia in the South Pacific or Zambia. Blomenröhr's entire range is available abroad, from tandem and tridem trailers to mini low loader trailers. For overseas markets such as New Caledonia, the vehicles are stacked in containers for transport to ensure they survive the long sea voyage undamaged.
After-sales service must be guaranteed for these durable low loader trailers, says Cordula Wenzel: "That's why we rely on brand suppliers such as BPW. A global service network is required for repairs to axles and brakes, the most important components of a drawbar trailer. The first question when selling abroad is always how the service is organised".
BPW has a global service network with 3,200 service partners, ensuring the supply of original spare parts everywhere. The 24-hour international mobility service ensures high availability. The local garages also have access to comprehensive technical documentation and manuals.
Documented from the very first drawbar trailer
At Blomenröhr, all vehicles, going back to the first vehicle, are documented using their chassis number. Spare parts can be ordered by sending a photo via WhatsApp, email or via the website, quoting the chassis number. Delivery is then usually made within 24 hours. The Blomenröhr spare parts service has all common parts in stock to guarantee fast delivery of spare parts.
"It may only be a simple drawbar trailer, but by now there's a lot of expertise involved" says Cordula Wenzel. As a vehicle manufacturer, we see it as our job to provide customers with the best possible advice so that they get the vehicle that is best suited to their needs. "And for as long as possible: in cooperation with our system partners, we can ensure that the drawbar trailer is quickly back in service in all countries when it matters. We can even supply or procure spare parts for very old models".
